What is Upward Soccer?
Upward Soccer is a sports program for grade school and middle school kids that teaches both soccer fundamentals and faith principles. It focuses on five areas of development: effort, offense, defense, sportsmanship, and Christlikeness.
The Upward season plays indoor for 6 weeks during the winter. Practices are weekly, start two weeks before games, and run throughout the season.
Games and Practices:
- Games: Saturdays, January 25th-March 2nd
- Practices will be held on Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday evenings beginning January 14th.
- All games and practices are held indoor in the THFBC Gym (enter through the South/Gym doors).
How much does it cost?
- Early Registration (before 11/19): $95 per child
- Regular Registration (after 11/19): $100 per child
- $5 Discount for each additional child
- Scholarships available (contact Darlene)
What equipment is needed?
Jerseys are included in the cost of registration. Players should wear gym shorts and tennis shoes. Cleats are not allowed. For practices, players may bring their own ball or may use one of ours.
How do I sign up?
To sign up for Upward Soccer, you will need to register and attend one of our evaluations. Registration is online and only takes a few minutes. Payment is required to complete registration.
Registration Deadline: 12/8
We use a process of evaluation to help us balance the teams and give each player a good experience. Evaluations are fun and easy and typically last about 15 minutes. Players will do some basic drills, like dribbling and shooting. You can come anytime during the evaluation period. Players should wear gym clothes and tennis shoes.
Evaluation Dates:
Tuesday 11/19: 6-8PM
Tuesday 12/3: 6-8PM
Saturday 12/7: 9AM-Noon
