LOCAL MISSIONS

  • Angel Tree

Virtual Angel Tree is here! This Christmas Season, participating in Angel Tree will bring joy into the life of a child, help to connect them with their incarcerated parent, and show them the love of Christ. To learn more and sponsor a child, CLICK HERE.

  • Operation Warm Christmas

First Baptist is once again blessed and excited to partner with Paitson Bros. Heating & Air Conditioning as they provide a brand new Lennox Heating system to two deserving families in the Wabash Valley. To learn more about the program and how to make a referral, CLICK HERE.

  • 14th & Chestnut Community Center

The 14th & Chestnut Community Center is a faith-based non-profit organization that is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children in our Terre Haute community. The center runs an after school program and other various programs throughout the year in order to ensure that these children have what they need to thrive. They also provide a food pantry that is open to the community. For more information about the center and their ministries, head to http://14thandchestnut.weebly.com.

  • VCSC Backpack Program

In addition to our church-wide food drives, many of our Connection Groups help provide food to a variety of schools here in Vigo County to help feed our students as they go home for the weekend and over holidays and breaks.

  • Fresh Milk for Terre Haute

Every week, we collect loose change to purchase fresh milk for the Mother Hubbard's Cupboard food pantry at the 14th & Chestnut Community Center. God has taken our scraps and leftovers and multiplied them into thousands of gallons of fresh milk for members of our community. You can donate using the large jug at our Welcome Center or by giving online through our Designated Giving option.

  • Kids Hope USA

Every week, we send mentors into Lost Creek Elementary School through a partnership with Kids Hope USA. Our mentors provide consistent, loving relationships with students as we help them grow both educationally and socially.

If you are interested in being a Kids Hope Mentor, email Judy Fears at jfears@thfbc.org.

  • The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army works to meet all types of needs present here in our community. In addition to their food bank and programs designed to help meet physical needs, Pathways to Hope pairs individuals with mentors to help provide encouragement, accountability, training, and love and support to help overcome the barriers that poverty and other circumstances present. We are proud to provide both funds and volunteers to these efforts.

  • FBC Family Life Center

Coming soon! We are currently in the process of building a large Family Life Center that will be the host site for Upward Indoor Soccer here in the Vigo County and several other community based activities and opportunities.
