A unique distinctive of First Baptist Church is our large, all-generation music ministry. We value highly providing opportunity for those in our church family to enhance and use their musical gifts in worship and praise of our Lord. Whether your instrument is your voice, a guitar, an organ, or anything in between - and whether you are in preschool or a senior - we want to help you explore your musical gifts in a way that brings glory to God.
Music is included as a part of the 2nd hour Sunday morning program for pre-school children. The children have the opportunity to participate in their very first musical experiences through singing, instruments & movement.
The Children's Choir:
This is the musical group for children in grades k-5 and meets on Wednesday evenings at 5:30PM. The group will share music in worship services throughout the year and possibly present musicals at Christmas or in the spring.
The Sanctuary Choir provides music for the Sunday morning worship services September through June. The choir performs a wide range of styles including contemporary songs, spirituals and traditional anthems and typically learns a great deal of new repertoire during the choir year. The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM
First Baptist Joyful Singers:
A distinctive feature of our music program is this group for all who consider themselves to be "senior" adults. The choir meets on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 AM. This group sings occasionally as the service choir for worship services.
The First Baptist orchestra provides music for our morning worship service on the 4th Sunday of each month and rehearses at 7:00PM on the third Sunday of each month. Soloists and ensembles comprised of orchestra participants also frequently perform music for worship service and other special events.
Our Link Praise Team involves vocalists, drums, acoustic and electric guitar, bass guitar, and keyboard. In addition to our musicians, we also have a crew that takes care of room set-up/clean-up, running our audio/visual components to the worship service, and providing sound technician services to the band.
